Changelog: Initial release of Antigravity for Visual Studio with agentic chat, side-by-side diff previews, interactive planning artifacts, and chorded keyboard shortcuts
Introduces the initial release of the Google Antigravity extension for Visual Studio, featuring an integrated AI agent chat tool window, native side-by-side diff previews with batch edit controls, interactive planning artifact tabs, automatic CLI management, and full Visual Studio theme and shortcut integration.
Improvements(8)
- Added native in-memory agent edit previews using Visual Studio's side-by-side diff viewer, along with an Accept All / Reject All action bar and automatic document saving without external file-reload prompts.
- Added support for opening interactive planning mode artifacts (such as implementation plans and walkthroughs) directly in Visual Studio document tabs.
- Added a standalone, dockable Antigravity Settings tool window with single-instance focus management and automatic state restoration across Visual Studio restarts.
- Added Ctrl+\ chorded keyboard shortcuts for toggling the Antigravity window with active editor selection context (Ctrl+\, Ctrl+Alt+L), starting a new conversation (Ctrl+\, Ctrl+Shift+L), approving or rejecting agent steps (Ctrl+\, Alt+Enter / Ctrl+\, Shift+Alt+Enter), and interrupting the agent (Ctrl+\, Escape).
- Added automatic background management of the Antigravity CLI (~/.gemini/bin), including automatic downloads, checksum verification, multi-instance lock detection, ephemeral port allocation, and offline fallback.
- Added automatic Visual Studio Light and Dark theme detection and live theme synchronization across the loading screen, Chat, Settings, and Artifact views.
- Added a dedicated Google Antigravity Language Server Output window pane for live backend log streaming alongside the Google Antigravity extension Output pane.
- Added bundled End User License Agreement (EULA), Marketplace README overview, and a Third-Party Notices command in the Visual Studio Help menu.
Fixes(4)
- Fixed workspace synchronization when opening or switching Visual Studio solutions and Open Folder workspaces, and added support for switching workspaces directly from the chat view.
- Fixed standard editing shortcuts (Ctrl+V, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y) and Edit menu commands when focus is inside the Antigravity tool window.
- Fixed an issue where signing in or out in the Settings window could trigger a sign-in redirect loop or lose the active workspace context.
- Addressed other minor user interface issues.
